We are looking for a Hyde Park ABCD Community Builder to join our team!

Hyde Park Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Community Builder

• £19,890 per annum (£28,860 FTE)

• Hours: 25.5 hours per week

• Our preferred schedule would include daytimes on Mondays, Thursdays and/or Fridays, alongside some evenings and weekends, including at least one Saturday morning a month. We have a baseline routine in mind for core hours but are open to discussing alternative working patterns at the interview stage.

• Matched pension scheme up to 5%

• 28 days + statutory bank holidays (both pro rata)

• Fixed-term: 2 years; funded by Leeds City Council - extension beyond this period is subject to the securing of further funding

An ABCD Community Builder identifies and builds connections through activities and meeting people, the worker would help people explore and then use their skills and talents. They would explore the resources that are part of every community and find out what people care about in the area they live. They work with the community to develop a vision and a plan, asking:

• What is best done by the community themselves?

• What is best done by the community with support?

• What does the community need outside help with?

This role is rooted in listening, noticing, connecting and enabling — not delivering services or leading projects.
